Rates and Payment

What forms of payment are accepted?

Lumenso accepts cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. It is also possible to use HSA cards for counseling services.

Do you accept insurance? Why not?

No, Lumenso Wellness does not accept insurance. While we understand that using insurance for therapy can make care more accessible, we choose to operate as a private-pay practice for a few important reasons:

  • Privacy & confidentiality – When using insurance, providers must submit mental health diagnoses and treatment details to the insurance company. This can impact your medical record and future coverage. Private-pay therapy allows for greater confidentiality and autonomy in your care.

  • Personalized therapy – Insurance companies often dictate the type and length of therapy based on their policies rather than your individual needs. By not accepting insurance, we can focus entirely on what’s best for you, without limitations on session frequency or length.

  • Flexibility & control – Without insurance restrictions, we can tailor therapy to your unique needs, whether that means integrating different therapeutic approaches, adjusting session duration, or exploring concerns that might not fit within insurance-covered diagnoses.

  • Avoiding unexpected costs – Many clients assume insurance will cover therapy, only to face unexpected denials, high deductibles, or reimbursement delays. Private-pay ensures transparency in fees so you know exactly what to expect.

If cost is a concern, we encourage you to explore options like out-of-network benefits through your insurance provider or using HSA/FSA funds for therapy. We can also provide a superbill for potential reimbursement.

What are your rates?

Rates vary based on provider and are as follows:

  • Drew Simri, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS (OH), LPCC (KY) - $175 per 50-minute counseling session, $225 per intake assessment

  • Yvette Nepper, LPCC (OH)- $150 per 50-minute counseling session, $200 per intake assessment

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, but we try to be as flexible as possible with scheduling and find a time that works best for you. If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged a late cancellation fee.

About the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimate

You may obtain a good faith estimate of our charges upon request prior to scheduling with us.

The No Surprises Act is a federal law which provides you with the right to a good faith estimate of the cost of services at our practice.  However, Ohio licensing board rules require us to provide you with the actual cost of my charges in a written informed consent form to which you must agree prior to our providing services.  That will be available to you prior to you being seen for services and prior to any billing.  In most cases it is impossible to estimate how many sessions you will need, and that will not be determined until your concerns are evaluated and will also vary based on the progress that you make, which depends in part on your efforts with the process.  You will be free to discontinue services at any time or the services may otherwise be terminated in accordance with the informed consent form language.

Although the No Surprises Law says that you may initiate a dispute process if the actual charges are substantially in excess of the Good Faith Estimated charges, i.e. if you are charged $400 more than the estimated cost for a session or for the total estimate provided, that is unlikely to happen and would be a violation of licensing board rules, since you will be agreeing up front to actual charges per session prior to being seen.  Dispute information is available upon request, however.  Any changes to my fees will require a change in the informed consent form fees, which you must agree to prior to having them go into effect, otherwise the fees will remain in effect for 12 months.
